The Problem
The client reported a light gas smell that had been present for a long time, but recently it became stronger. Any gas smell is a safety concern and should never be ignored.

Our team performed a full diagnostic and maintenance service on the Lochinvar Knight boiler:
- Combustion tuning using a calibrated gas analyzer.
- Adjustment of the gas-to-air mixture to correct incomplete combustion.
- Inspection of the burner, heat exchanger, venting, and air-intake system.
The source of the gas smell was the burner operating with an improper mixture due to long-overdue maintenance. Incomplete combustion can cause a light gas odor that moves into the mechanical room through the venting system.
