Not just new equipment — a system done correctly.

Heat Pump Installation

ABC Service designs heat pumps around real load calculations and the Bay Area's mild but variable climate. We install ducted, ductless, and multi-zone systems from Mitsubishi, Daikin, Bosch, and Carrier — sized to the building, not the brochure.

Indoor-unit selection accounts for ceiling height, existing chase space, refrigerant line-set length, and condensate routing. Multi-zone branch boxes and outdoor placement are coordinated with the building so the install reads as intentional, not retrofit.

Furnace-to-Heat-Pump Retrofit

Most furnace-to-heat-pump retrofits require electrical planning. We coordinate panel capacity, run dedicated circuits, verify or upgrade existing ductwork, and integrate with EV charging and heat-pump water-heater plans so the whole electrification path stays clean.

Panel and circuit planning is sequenced with future EV and water-heater loads so a single trench, conduit run, or panel upgrade serves the whole electrification roadmap. That coordination is where most retrofit budgets are won or lost.

Heat Pump Repair

Our team diagnoses refrigerant, inverter-board, and control issues on variable-capacity systems from all major brands. Inverter-driven equipment requires manufacturer-specific service tools and a measurement-based approach — not the swap-and-pray method common in the trade.

We verify refrigerant performance with subcooling and superheat targets, read inverter fault codes against manufacturer service literature, and isolate communication or sensor faults before any board is replaced. The goal is the right repair on the first visit.

Heat Pump Maintenance

We commission and maintain every system with instruments: refrigerant verification, static pressure, balance point, and control logic. That work is the difference between a heat pump that performs and one that disappoints.

Inverter-driven systems require setup parameters configured to the install — defrost, low-ambient cutoff, capacity limits — that field crews routinely leave at factory defaults. We tune those parameters and document the final settings so the next technician inherits a known baseline.

Why it matters

Why this is worth doing right.

Electrification

Heat pumps are the cornerstone of an all-electric home and the lowest-carbon way to heat and cool in California.

One system, two jobs

Heating and cooling from a single piece of equipment — simpler, cleaner, and easier to service.

Operating cost

Properly designed heat pumps deliver 2.5–4× efficiency compared to resistance heat or older AC equipment.

Stacked incentives

Rebates and tax credits often cover a meaningful share of the project cost when documented correctly.

Our process

How a heat pump project runs.

  1. 01
    Evaluate

We assess existing equipment, loads, venting, electrical, and site constraints on-site.

  2. 02
    Design

We size and specify equipment to the building — with options and trade-offs explained plainly.

  3. 03
    Install

A dedicated lead tech handles a permitted, clean install with finish-grade workmanship.

  4. 04
    Commission

We start up, balance, and verify the system against design intent with calibrated instruments.

  5. 05
    Support

We walk you through operation, file rebates, and stand behind the system long-term.

Extremely clean boiler installation and excellent communication throughout. They engineered the system properly instead of just swapping a unit on the wall.
