A smart fix for a tricky connection in the heat pump in Mountain View

Heat pump blows cold air — a common complaint, an uncommon solution

We were called out for HVAC repair in Mountain View, to a Connect Homes Inc. project — a well-known builder of modular homes.

The issue: the heat pump was blowing cold air while in heating mode ❄️

Our HVAC diagnosis revealed a refrigerant leak in the system. Without pressure, there’s no heat — and no proper operation. To locate the leak, we charged the unit with refrigerant and UV dye, then let it run for a few days for accurate leak detection.

Eventually, we found it. But here’s the catch — the original connection was twisted at the wrong angle. Simply tightening it wasn’t an option — it could burst. So we did it right:
— Recovered all refrigerant to the condenser,
— Cut the existing line,
— Reconnected everything properly 🔧

The total cost for diagnosis, leak detection, and heat pump repair came out to under $2,000.
Warranty — 6 months.
