Today we completed the installation of a Navien NPE-240 tankless water heater in San Jose, California. As part of the project, the existing external Grundfos recirculation pump was preserved and successfully integrated into the new system.

Today we completed the installation of a Navien NPE-240 tankless water heater in San Jose, California. As part of the project, the existing external Grundfos recirculation pump was preserved and successfully integrated into the new system.
The old A. O. Smith 75-gallon tank water heater was fully removed and decommissioned. It was replaced with a modern Navien tankless unit that provides improved energy efficiency, continuous hot water supply, and a significantly reduced footprint.
The integration of the existing recirculation pump allowed the homeowner to maintain fast hot water delivery while upgrading to a high-efficiency tankless solution without unnecessary component replacement.
Scope of work included:
- Removal of the existing 75-gallon tank water heater
- Installation of Navien NPE-240 tankless water heater
- Integration of the existing Grundfos recirculation pump
- System startup, testing, and commissioning
- City of San Jose permit obtaining and coordination
- Manufacturer warranty registration
Total installation time: approximately 5 hours.
Result: The system is fully operational, tested, and performing as designed. The customer was very satisfied with the final result and overall installation process.
